I don't like capris.
I think they look frumpy. I think they age you.
Ankle pants? Yes! Capris? Not so much.
But, I want to give you the secret to finding the best place for your pants to stop. The right spot will make your legs look fabulous!
In a nut shell, you do NOT want capris ending at the widest part of your calf. If you take away nothing else from this article, remember that! The problem is capris mostly land at that part of the calf, creating frumpyville! To determine your best length, just follow these steps:
Stand in front of a mirror.
Put your heels together.
Point the toes on your left foot toward 10 o’clock.
Point the toes on your right foot toward 2 o-clock.
Separate your heels a bit.
Look for the spaces in between your legs.
Those spaces are your diamonds! Do you see it? You might have 3, 4 or 5. Or, you might not have ANY diamonds. That’s okay! We have the perfect hem length for you, too.
If the bottom of your pant leg is hitting right at the thickest part of your leg, it:
needs to be altered, or
it needs to be tossed.
We want the hem to be hitting, horizontally, straight through the diamond. This is going to create a very attractive look. You’re actually creating an "ankle pant" vs. a capri.
If you have no diamonds? Find the fullest part of your calf and allow the length to fall below it.
Want to wear a skirt but have no diamonds? You’ll want to wear the classic “Chanel length”. It’s hitting just below when your knee bends.
Warm weather is here and I know you're going to want to break out those spring/summer-weight bottoms. Diamonds really ARE a girls' best friend - use them to your advantage the next time you put on a pair of pants!
